The study investigated the association between disease activity and serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25(OH)-D3), B cell activation of the tumor necrosis factor family (BAFF), or microglobulin in patients with primary Sjogren's syndrome (SS). Sixty-nine primary SS patients and 22 sicca control patients were included in the study. Disease activity was measured with EULAR Sjogren's syndrome disease activity index (ESSDAI). Serum levels of 25(OH)-D3 and microglobulin were measured by radioimmunoassay and BAFF was measured by an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Serum levels of 25(OH)-D3 were significantly lower in SS patients compared to the sicca controls ( = 0.036). Serum levels of BAFF tended to be higher ( = 0.225) and those of microglobulin were significantly higher in patients with SS than in sicca controls ( = 0.023). In univariate regression analyses, ESSDAI was significantly associated with serum levels of 25(OH)-D3, BAFF, and microglobulin. After stepwise backward multivariate linear regression analyses including age and acute phase reactants, ESSDAI was associated with 25(OH)-D3 ( = -0.042, = 0.015) and BAFF ( = 0.001, = 0.015) in SS patients. In SS patients, ESSDAI is negatively associated with serum levels of 25(OH)-D3 and positively associated with BAFF.
本研究旨在探讨原发性干燥综合征(pSS)患者疾病活动度与血清 25-羟维生素 D3(25(OH)-D3)、肿瘤坏死因子家族 B 细胞激活物(BAFF)或 微球蛋白之间的关系。研究纳入 69 例 pSS 患者和 22 例干燥综合征对照患者。采用 EULAR 干燥综合征疾病活动指数(ESSDAI)评估疾病活动度。采用放射免疫分析法检测血清 25(OH)-D3 和 微球蛋白水平,采用酶联免疫吸附试验检测 BAFF 水平。与干燥综合征对照患者相比,pSS 患者血清 25(OH)-D3 水平显著降低( = 0.036)。BAFF 水平有升高趋势( = 0.225),而 微球蛋白水平显著升高( = 0.023)。单因素回归分析显示,ESSDAI 与血清 25(OH)-D3、BAFF 和 微球蛋白水平显著相关。经逐步向后多元线性回归分析(包括年龄和急性期反应物),ESSDAI 与 pSS 患者的 25(OH)-D3( = -0.042, = 0.015)和 BAFF( = 0.001, = 0.015)相关。在 pSS 患者中,ESSDAI 与血清 25(OH)-D3 呈负相关,与 BAFF 呈正相关。
