The aim of this study was to evaluate the length of the greater palatine canal in a Lebanese population using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) technology.
In this study, we measured the length of 148 greater palatine canals in 74 CBCT images of Lebanese adult patients (38 females and 36 males). The data obtained was analyzed statistically to determine 1) if age is related to the length of the canal, 2) if the length of the left side tends to be systematically larger or smaller than the length of the right side, and 3) if the mean length of the canals in females is different than the one in males.
In a sagittal plane, the average length of the greater palatine canal was 30.62 (30.64 mm on the right and 30.60 mm on the left).
Within the limits of this study, we concluded that in our sample in a Lebanese population, the length of the greater palatine canal does not significantly vary according to age, gender, and side.
本研究旨在利用锥形束计算机断层扫描(CBCT)技术评估黎巴嫩人群中腭大管的长度。
在本研究中,我们在74例黎巴嫩成年患者(38名女性和36名男性)的CBCT图像中测量了148条腭大管的长度。对获得的数据进行统计分析,以确定:1)年龄是否与管道长度相关;2)左侧管道长度是否系统性地大于或小于右侧管道长度;3)女性患者管道的平均长度是否与男性患者不同。
在矢状面中,腭大管的平均长度为30.62(右侧为30.64毫米,左侧为30.60毫米)。
在本研究的范围内,我们得出结论,在黎巴嫩人群的样本中,腭大管的长度在年龄、性别和左右侧方面没有显著差异。
