[Cytochemical determination of estrogen receptors in breast tumors].

An account is given in this paper of results obtained from determination of oestrogen receptors in cases of mammary tumours, using the FITC conjugate of Lee's cytochemical procedure. Minimum hardware input is required for the approach which is applicable also to smaller tumours and to cases of poor specificity. Carcinomas were positively recorded from 92 in 173 women, with 82.5 per cent of them exhibiting positive responses to oestrogen.
