PURPOSE
To study the ocular manifestations of juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus (JSLE), including the ocular side-effects of the systemic medications used.
METHODS
A descriptive cross-sectional study on 40 children diagnosed with JSLE was conducted. Ophthalmological and laboratory investigations as well as a calculation of the Systemic Lupus Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI-2K) were performed.
RESULTS
Forty consecutive children, 32 females and 8 males, with JSLE were examined. Their mean age was 13±2.8 years and the mean SLEDAI-2K was 4.3±3.1. An abnormal Schirmer test was found in 16 patients (40%), retinal vascular changes were found in seven patients (17.5%), and one patient (2.5%) had faint posterior subcapsular cataract.
CONCLUSION
Serious sight-threatening complications were not detected in our study; dry eye was the most common ocular finding, and the detected retinopathy was related to systemic hypertension and could not be correlated to either disease activity or duration.
目的
研究青少年系统性红斑狼疮（JSLE）的眼部表现，包括所用全身药物的眼部副作用。
方法
对40例诊断为JSLE的儿童进行描述性横断面研究。进行了眼科和实验室检查以及2000年系统性红斑狼疮疾病活动指数（SLEDAI - 2K）的计算。
结果
检查了40例连续的JSLE患儿，其中32例女性，8例男性。他们的平均年龄为13±2.8岁，平均SLEDAI - 2K为4.3±3.1。16例患者（40%）泪液分泌试验异常，7例患者（17.5%）有视网膜血管改变，1例患者（2.5%）有轻度后囊下白内障。
结论
在我们的研究中未发现严重的威胁视力的并发症；干眼是最常见的眼部表现，检测到的视网膜病变与系统性高血压有关，与疾病活动度或病程均无关联。
