Abstract

OBJECTIVE

Colonoscopy accuracy in detecting colorectal neoplasia is critical for colorectal cancer prevention but has been shown to be operator- and technology-dependent. This article will discuss several recent improvements in the technique and technology of colonoscopy.

CONCLUSION

More rigorous training and retraining programs, active monitoring of endoscopist technique and outcomes, and exclusion of poorly performing endoscopists are urgently needed to improve the ultimate efficacy of colorectal cancer screening programs.

目的
