Family Cupressaceae is the largest coniferous plant family. Essential oils of many species belonging to family Cupressaceae are known to have several biological activities specially antimicrobial activity. The essential oils from aerial parts of Torr., L. and (Vahl) Mast. were prepared by hydrodistillation. The chemical composition of the essential oils has been elucidated by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy analysis. The prepared essential oils were examined against selected species of Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and species. Broth dilution methods were used to detect minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC). Sixteen compounds were identified in the essential oils of both and L. and fifteen compounds were identified in the essential oil of . δ-3-Carene (43.10%), (+)-Cedrol (74.03%) and Camphor (21.23%) were the major constituents in the essential oils of , L. and , respectively. The essential oils showed strong antimicrobial activities against the selected microorganisms in concentration range 0.02 3- 3.03 µL/mL. This study could contribute to the chemotaxonomic characterization of family Cupressaceae. In addition, it proved that the essential oils under investigation possess potential antimicrobial properties.
柏科是最大的针叶植物科。已知柏科许多物种的精油具有多种生物活性,特别是抗菌活性。通过水蒸馏法制备了刺柏、杜松和香脂冷杉地上部分的精油。通过气相色谱 - 质谱分析阐明了精油的化学成分。对制备的精油针对选定的革兰氏阳性菌、革兰氏阴性菌和真菌物种进行了检测。采用肉汤稀释法检测最低抑菌浓度(MIC)、最低杀菌浓度(MBC)和最低杀真菌浓度(MFC)。在刺柏和杜松的精油中鉴定出16种化合物,在香脂冷杉的精油中鉴定出15种化合物。δ - 3 - 蒈烯(43.10%)、(+) - 雪松醇(74.03%)和樟脑(21.23%)分别是刺柏、杜松和香脂冷杉精油中的主要成分。这些精油在0.023 - 3.03μL/mL的浓度范围内对选定的微生物表现出较强的抗菌活性。本研究有助于柏科的化学分类学特征研究。此外,它证明了所研究的精油具有潜在的抗菌特性。
