A case is presented of primary herpetic gingivostomatitis with herpes simplex virus infection involving the right thumb and little finger of an 18-year-old white man. The lesions all started at the same time. The disease was allowed to run its course except for symptomatic treatment. The diagnosis was made both from clinical signs and laboratory isolation of the virus.
