Abstract

The asymmetric unit of the title salt, Co(CHNS)(HO), comprises a [Co(CHNS)(HO)] cation and two NO anions. In the complex, [Co(CHNS)(HO)] cation, the tetra-dentate 6,6'-sulfanediylbis(2,2'-bi-pyridine) ligand coordinates to the Co cation in the equatorial positions, while two water mol-ecules occupy the axial positions, forming a compressed octa-hedral CoNO coordination sphere. The NO anions are linked to the [Co(CHNS)(HO)] cations O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, yielding a layered arrangement parallel to (001).
