The main aim of this study was to determine the association of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-OH D) levels with hormonal, clinical and metabolic profile in patients with and without Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
Forty-eight normal-weight (body mass index (BMI) of 19-24.99 kg/m) women with PCOS, 36 overweight (BMI of 25-29.9 kg/m) women with PCOS and 56 normal-weight controls participated in the study. Blood samples were collected in the early follicular phase (between day 2 and day 5 of the menstrual cycle) at 9:00 am after an overnight fast. Circulating concentrations of 25-OH D, luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin, TSH, free testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEA-SO4), 17-hydroxyprogesterone, sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), fasting insulin, fasting glucose, and lipid profile were assessed.
Normal weight (BMI 19-24.99 kg/m) and overweight (BMI 25-29.99 kg/m) women with PCOS were compared with normal-weight controls and lower 25-OH D levels were found in both PCOS groups (p<0.05 and p<0.01, respectively 25-OH D significantly negatively correlated with waist circumference (WC), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), free testosterone and modified Ferriman-Gallwey scores, however, there was a positive correlation between 25-OH D and SHBG levels (p<0.05).
Our findings suggest that PCOS is associated with hypovitaminosis D.
本研究的主要目的是确定多囊卵巢综合征(PCOS)患者和非PCOS患者血清25-羟维生素D(25-OH D)水平与激素、临床和代谢特征之间的关联。
48名体重正常(体重指数(BMI)为19 - 24.99kg/m)的PCOS女性、36名超重(BMI为25 - 29.9kg/m)的PCOS女性和56名体重正常的对照者参与了本研究。在月经周期第2天至第5天的卵泡早期上午9:00空腹采集血样。评估循环中的25-OH D、黄体生成素(LH)、卵泡刺激素(FSH)、催乳素、促甲状腺激素(TSH)、游离睾酮、硫酸脱氢表雄酮(DHEA-SO4)、17-羟孕酮、性激素结合球蛋白(SHBG)、空腹胰岛素、空腹血糖和血脂水平。
将体重正常(BMI 19 - 24.99kg/m)和超重(BMI 25 - 29.99kg/m)的PCOS女性与体重正常的对照者进行比较,发现两个PCOS组的25-OH D水平均较低(分别为p<0.05和p<0.01)。25-OH D与腰围(WC)、腰臀比(WHR)、游离睾酮和改良的费里曼-盖尔维评分显著负相关,然而,25-OH D与SHBG水平呈正相关(p<0.05)。
我们的研究结果表明,PCOS与维生素D缺乏有关。
