Abstract
- Linear relationships between plasma osmolality and thirst and vasopressin secretion are described in conscious dogs. 2. During water deprivation, natriuresis occurs which ameliorates the rise in plasma osmolality. 3. Increases in plasma osmolality prevent the stimulation of aldosterone secretion by angiotensin II.
