Hydrogen sulfide (HS) is an endogenously-produced gasotransmitter and is predominantly speciated as HS at physiological pH. Despite this importance, reversible binding of HS to synthetic receptors remains rare and confined to highly-engineered receptor systems. Here we demonstrate the generality of reversible HS binding in a family of tren-based receptors.
