Since 1970, 91 patients with Huntington's chorea have been identified in Peru, the majority of them, 42 cases, living in Cañete, a valley 140 km from Lima. The precise origin of the disease is unknown, but these patients are mostly half-bred from a mixture of White and Indian rather than from a mixture of Chinese, Japanese or Black.
自1970年以来，秘鲁已确诊91例亨廷顿舞蹈症患者，其中大多数，即42例，生活在距利马140公里的卡涅特山谷。该病的确切起源尚不清楚，但这些患者大多是白人与印第安人的混血儿，而非中国人、日本人或黑人的混血儿。
