Abstract

is a problematic cyanobacterium in freshwater lakes distributed worldwide. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of NIES-87, isolated from Lake Kasumigaura, Japan. The genome is approximately 4.9 Mb in size, with an average G+C content of 42.9% and 4,355 predicted protein-coding genes.
