A case of carcinoma of the esophagogastric junction with marked eosinophil infiltration is reported. The patient was a 56-year-old man. He had complained of abdominal discomfort for three months. After examination, a total gastrectomy was performed. Carcinoma of Borrmann III type was found at the esophagogastric junction. Pathohistological findings showed that mucinous adenocarcinoma and marked eosinophil infiltration were present in the primary lesion and metastatic lymph nodes, but there was no evidence of eosinophilia. These results suggested that the tumor might produce eosinophil chemotactic factor. However, the factor could not be detected.
