Abstract
In situ hybridization of viral DNA fragments to metaphase chromosomes of two chicken T-lymphoblastoid cell lines (MDCC) demonstrated that Marek's disease virus DNA was located in the short arm of chromosome 2 of MDCC-MSB1 and MDCC-RP1 cells and in the short arm of chromosome 4 of MDCC-MSB1 cells. The MDV DNA sequences in these chromosomes are not in the vicinity of oncogenes or integrated retroviruses that have been previously identified in chicken chromosomes.
