A case of carcinoma of the breast and a case of melanoma metastatic to the brain were evaluated by both magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and enhanced computed tomography (CT). In these two cases, enhanced CT was more sensitive and more clearly delineated the extent of disease. Does diagnostic imaging of central nervous system metastatic disease require both MRI and enhanced CT?
