Abstract

To examine if personalized learning objectives influenced student engagement and if achievement of objectives could be measured from course assignments. Learners created personalized learning objectives that correlated with their own goals within the context of the course. Using a mixed-methods analysis approach, the influence of these objectives on engagement and evidence of achievement of objectives were examined. Students reported a positive influence of personalized learning objectives on engagement. Additionally, measurement of student progression or achievement of objectives was possible from analysis of the course assignments. Personalized learning is an important educational design for future pharmacists and health care professionals. Creating personalized learning objectives that build on centralized course objectives and connect to a broader context is one way to achieve the goal of an engaged and expanded learning experience.

为了考察个性化学习目标是否会影响学生的参与度,以及是否可以通过课程作业来衡量目标的实现情况。学习者制定了与课程背景下自身目标相关的个性化学习目标。本研究采用混合方法分析方法,考察了这些目标对参与度的影响以及实现目标的证据。学生报告说,个性化学习目标对参与度有积极影响。此外,通过对课程作业的分析,可以衡量学生的进步或目标的实现情况。个性化学习是未来药剂师和医疗保健专业人员的重要教育设计。制定个性化学习目标,这些目标建立在集中的课程目标之上,并与更广泛的背景相联系,是实现参与式和扩展学习体验这一目标的一种方式。
