BACKGROUND
Systemic corticosteroid is used to treat alopecia areata, but it is associated with side effects. Mini-pulse therapy is thought to be effective but able to reduce side effects.
AIM
The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of oral mini-pulse methylprednisolone in the treatment of alopecia areata.
METHODS
Patients received methylprednisolone 16 mg orally for 2 consecutive days every week.
RESULTS
After 3 months, among patients, 40% recovered well, and 55.6% recovered fairly. After 6 months, 82.2% recovered well, 17.8% recovered fairly. No adverse events were detected, and the recurrence rate was low (2.2%).
CONCLUSION
Oral mini-pulse methylprednisolone therapy is an effective and safe therapeutic option for alopecia areata without side effects, and the time of the treatment is short.
背景
全身用皮质类固醇用于治疗斑秃，但会产生副作用。小剂量脉冲疗法被认为有效且能减少副作用。
目的
本研究旨在评估口服小剂量脉冲甲基强的松龙治疗斑秃的有效性。
方法
患者每周连续2天口服甲基强的松龙16毫克。
结果
3个月后，40%的患者恢复良好，55.6%的患者恢复尚可。6个月后，82.2%的患者恢复良好，17.8%的患者恢复尚可。未检测到不良事件，复发率低（2.2%）。
结论
口服小剂量脉冲甲基强的松龙疗法是一种治疗斑秃有效且安全的选择，无副作用，治疗时间短。
