Peer counsellor programs are one of many countermeasures for current issues in adolescent mental health. Peer counsellors need to have adequate capability and self-efficacy especially in basic counselling skills to be able to help their peers in their daily life. A validated training module for peer counsellors in mental health context has not yet been developed in Indonesia. This research aims to develop, and evaluate content and empirical validity of a training module for adolescent peer counsellors in Indonesia. A training module was developed based on a systematic literature review. Expert judgment was elicited to ensure content validity, while a quasi-experiment with two groups control design with a pretest and post-test measure was conducted to evaluate empirical validity. Thirty experimental group subjects and 14 control group subjects were involved in this study. Expert judgment showed the training module had satisfactory content validity, fulfilling statistical consensus requirements. Analysis using EffectLiteR showed that peer counsellor training had a significant effect on self-efficacy with a significance score of 0.019 ( < 0.05) for average effect. The module has adequate content and empirical validity to increase counselling self-efficacy in adolescent peer counsellors.
同伴辅导员计划是解决当前青少年心理健康问题的众多对策之一。同伴辅导员需要具备足够的能力和自我效能感,尤其是在基本咨询技巧方面,以便能够在日常生活中帮助他们的同龄人。印度尼西亚尚未开发出针对心理健康背景的同伴辅导员的经过验证的培训模块。本研究旨在开发和评估印度尼西亚青少年同伴辅导员培训模块的内容和实证有效性。培训模块是基于系统的文献回顾开发的。征求专家意见以确保内容有效性,同时进行了具有前测和后测措施的两组对照设计的准实验,以评估实证有效性。本研究涉及 30 名实验组和 14 名对照组。专家判断表明,培训模块具有令人满意的内容有效性,满足统计共识要求。使用 EffectLiteR 进行的分析表明,同伴辅导员培训对自我效能感有显著影响,平均效应的显著性得分为 0.019(<0.05)。该模块具有足够的内容和实证有效性,可以提高青少年同伴辅导员的咨询自我效能感。
