An imbalance between the numbers of male and female worms had no significant effect upon the fecundity of Schistosoma mansoni in rhesus monkeys or upon the number of S. mansoni eggs in the tissues of infected persons or mice. The number of S. japonicum eggs in the tissues of infected rabbits was similarly unaffected by disproportion between worm genders.
