In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of oral administration of (antlion) extract on liver and kidney histology in streptozotocin-induced diabetic mice.
Twenty-four mice received a single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin and were then divided into six groups. Untreated diabetic mice served as the negative control group, and glibenclamide-treated mice served as the positive control group. Mice in the other four groups, namely T1, T2, T3, and T4 groups, received (antlion) extract at 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10 mg/kg, respectively. Permanent thin sections were used to examine liver and kidney histology.
The most appropriate antihyperglycaemic dosage of the extract was 10 mg/kg for 2 days. Histological examination of the liver and kidneys showed that the antlion extract at 10 and 5 mg/kg exhibited significant tissue-repair effects.
(antlion) extract can not only reduce blood glucose levels but also repair hyperglycaemia-induced tissue damage.
在本研究中,我们旨在探讨口服蚁蛉提取物对链脲佐菌素诱导的糖尿病小鼠肝脏和肾脏组织学的影响。
24只小鼠接受单次腹腔注射链脲佐菌素,然后分为六组。未治疗的糖尿病小鼠作为阴性对照组,格列本脲治疗的小鼠作为阳性对照组。其他四组,即T1、T2、T3和T4组的小鼠分别接受2.5、5、7.5和10mg/kg的蚁蛉提取物。使用永久性薄片检查肝脏和肾脏组织学。
蚁蛉提取物最适宜的降血糖剂量为10mg/kg,持续2天。肝脏和肾脏的组织学检查表明,10mg/kg和5mg/kg的蚁蛉提取物具有显著的组织修复作用。
蚁蛉提取物不仅可以降低血糖水平,还可以修复高血糖诱导的组织损伤。
