Abstract

Patient satisfaction is an important clinical marker for hand/upper extremity patients. Few studies have investigated the predictors of patient satisfaction in the clinic setting. Our objective was to analyze patient satisfaction surveys to explore factors that influence patient satisfaction.  We conducted a retrospective analysis assessing patient satisfaction in the hand/upper extremity clinics at our university medical center between 2012 and 2018. Patient satisfaction was assessed via Press Ganey Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys. Patient demographics, satisfaction scores, and clinic experience questionnaire responses were evaluated. Statistical analysis was conducted to identify significant trends.  Between 2012 and 2018, 102 surveys were completed. Scores ranged from 5 to 10 with an average provider rating of 9.56. We found six factors significantly influenced patient satisfaction: adequate time was spent with the provider, provider showed respect, patient was seen by provider within 15 minutes of appointment time, provider listened sufficiently, patient received understandable medical instructions, and understandable medical explanations ( < 0.05).  Achieving patient satisfaction is an important clinical marker in hand/upper extremity clinics. Patient satisfaction has defined predictors wherein various clinical factors can influence patient satisfaction and willingness to refer their provider to other patients.

患者满意度是手/上肢患者的一项重要临床指标。很少有研究在临床环境中调查患者满意度的预测因素。我们的目的是分析患者满意度调查,以探索影响患者满意度的因素。

我们进行了一项回顾性分析,评估了2012年至2018年期间我校医学中心手/上肢诊所的患者满意度。通过Press Ganey医院医疗服务提供者和系统消费者评估调查来评估患者满意度。对患者人口统计学、满意度得分和诊所体验问卷回复进行了评估。进行统计分析以确定显著趋势。

在2012年至2018年期间,共完成了102份调查问卷。得分范围为5至10分,提供者平均评分为9.56分。我们发现有六个因素对患者满意度有显著影响:与提供者相处时间充足、提供者表示尊重、患者在预约时间后15分钟内见到提供者、提供者充分倾听、患者收到易懂的医疗指导以及易懂的医学解释(<0.05)。

实现患者满意度是手/上肢诊所的一项重要临床指标。患者满意度有明确的预测因素,其中各种临床因素会影响患者满意度以及向其他患者推荐其提供者的意愿。
