In the chemical synthesis of DNA, we found that the single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) fragments containing the sequence GCGAAAGC showed higher mobilities than the fragments without this sequence on a denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Physical structure of these DNA fragments was studied by enzyme digestion and optical analysis. The abnormal mobilities on electrophoresis seem to depend on an unusual conformation.
在DNA的化学合成过程中，我们发现在变性聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳中，含有序列GCGAAAGC的单链DNA（ssDNA）片段比不含该序列的片段具有更高的迁移率。通过酶切和光学分析研究了这些DNA片段的物理结构。电泳时的异常迁移率似乎取决于一种不寻常的构象。
