Abstract
sp. strain FP2 was isolated from vacuum-packaged refrigerated spoiled venison in New Zealand. This report describes the generation and annotation of the 5.6-Mb draft genome sequence of sp. FP2, which will facilitate future functional genomic studies to improve our understanding of premature spoilage of red meats.
