Abstract

To explore the mediating effect of rumination on coping style and insomnia in college students.We surveyed 767 college students from a university in Sichuan Province using Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), Ruminative Responses Scale (RRS), and Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ).The prevalence of insomnia was 36.6% in the surveyed college students. Positive coping style was negatively correlated with the total score and scores in each dimension of RRS (=-0.127~-0.116, < 0.001), and was negatively correlated with the total score of ISI (=-0.159, < 0.001). Negative coping style was positively correlated with the total score and the scores in each dimension of RRS (=0.298-0.334, < 0.001), and was positively correlated with the total score of ISI (=0.264, < 0.001). The total score and the scores in each dimension of RRS were positively correlated with the total score of ISI (=0.251-0.281, < 0.001). Rumination had a partial mediating effect on both positive and negative coping style and insomnia.Coping style affects insomnia in college students not only directly but also indirectly through the mediating effect of rumination.

探讨沉思对大学生应对方式与失眠的中介作用。我们使用失眠严重指数(ISI)、沉思反应量表(RRS)和特质应对方式问卷(TCSQ)对四川省某高校的767名大学生进行了调查。在被调查的大学生中,失眠的患病率为36.6%。积极应对方式与RRS总分及各维度得分呈负相关(=-0.127~-0.116,<0.001),与ISI总分呈负相关(=-0.159,<0.001)。消极应对方式与RRS总分及各维度得分呈正相关(=0.298 - 0.334,<0.001),与ISI总分呈正相关(=0.264,<0.001)。RRS总分及各维度得分与ISI总分呈正相关(=0.251 - 0.281,<0.001)。沉思对积极和消极应对方式与失眠均具有部分中介作用。应对方式不仅直接影响大学生的失眠,还通过沉思的中介作用间接影响失眠。
