Recurrent agranulocytosis following carbimazole and propylthiouracil therapy.

Agranulocytosis is an infrequent but potentially fatal complication of anti-thyroid drugs. There is little information regarding the use of a second anti-thyroid drug when initial therapy results in agranulocytosis. This report summarises a case of recurrent agranulocytosis following the consecutive administration of carbimazole and propylthiouracil.
