Abstract

Extraneural metastases of primary brain tumors are rare. Here, we provided a case of a 19-year-old man presenting with 2 intra-abdominal masses, who had a history of intracranial germ cell tumors and a ventriculoperitoneal shunt implanted in order to alleviate obstructive hydrocephalus. The intra-abdominal lesions showed intense FDG uptake and were confirmed to be germ cell tumors by postoperative histopathology. F-FDG PET scan could be useful in monitoring metastases of intracranial germ cell tumors via ventriculoperitoneal shunt.

摘要

原发性脑肿瘤的颅外转移较为罕见。本文报道了 1 例 19 岁男性,因颅内生殖细胞瘤病史且为缓解梗阻性脑积水行脑室-腹腔分流术,术后出现 2 个腹腔肿块。该患者腹腔病变 FDG 摄取明显增高,术后组织病理学证实为生殖细胞瘤。F-FDG PET 扫描可通过脑室-腹腔分流术监测颅内生殖细胞瘤的转移情况。
