The anti-inflammatory effect of asperase was shown on models of protein, aerosil and formalin edemas. The effect was the same as that of trypsin and was more pronounced as compared with that of chymotrypsin. Intramuscular administration of asperase stimulated the growth of granulation tissue as well. Inhibition of the enzyme activity with respect to a high molecular protein (casein) had no influence on the manifestation of its anti-inflammatory effect.
