Serum insulin concentrations and anticipatory factors of cardiomyopathy in NIDDM.

To summarise from some preliminary analyses, a high early insulin: obesity (BMI) ratio remains an associate of later development of ECG change in this diabetic population, and there are reasons to suggest that this may be involved particularly through mechanisms of relative insensitivity to the hypoglycaemic effect of insulin.
