Abstract

• Epicardial fat presents challenges in differentiating it from pericardial effusion. • Epicardial lipomatosis can mimic tumor or thrombus, leading to potential misdiagnosis. • Epicardial lipomatosis has been reported to present with cardiac symptoms. • Chest computed tomography and chest magnetic resonance imaging help to avoid misdiagnosis.
