Abstract

Light-responsive micromotors using photosensitizer-decorated upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) are described. The UCNP motors converting near-infrared light into visible emission were propelled by oxygen bubble propulsion. The micromotor can be easily controlled by adjusting the light intensity, solution pH, and concentration of HO and UCNPs.
