Abstract

In this study, we reported the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of a red panda (). The mitogenome (GenBank accession number MK886830) length is 16,517 bp and exhibits the typical structure of mammalian mitochondrial genomes contains 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, two ribosomal RNAs, and one control region. The tRNA gene failed to form the typical clover-leaf secondary structure as it lacked the dihydrouridine (DHU) arm. phylogenetically, our sequence cluster together with genus , which showed a closer genetic relationship. The mitogenome provides new data to further elucidation and understand the phylogeny of red pandas.

在本研究中,我们报道了一只小熊猫()的完整线粒体基因组序列。该线粒体基因组(GenBank登录号MK886830)长度为16,517 bp,呈现出哺乳动物线粒体基因组的典型结构,包含13个蛋白质编码基因、22个转运RNA、两个核糖体RNA和一个控制区。由于缺乏二氢尿嘧啶(DHU)臂,转运RNA基因未能形成典型的三叶草二级结构。在系统发育上,我们的序列与属聚在一起,显示出更密切的遗传关系。该线粒体基因组为进一步阐明和理解小熊猫的系统发育提供了新的数据。
