Wettability of root canal sealers to the root canal wall plays a significant role in the attainment of a fluid-tight seal.
This study aimed to evaluate and compare the wettability of three different root canal sealers on the root canal walls after three different irrigant activation techniques using the contact angle meter.
Thirty-six single-rooted mandibular premolars after decoronation and cleaning and shaping up to size #35 were randomly divided into three groups with 12 samples in each group ( = 12) based on the different activation techniques: Group I (passive irrigation with side-vented needle), Group II (manual dynamic agitation), and Group III (passive ultrasonic irrigation). Root segments were split longitudinally and were subdivided into three subgroups based on the root canal sealers tested with four samples in each subgroup ( = 4): Subgroup A (Tubliseal EWT), Subgroup B (AH Plus), and Subgroup C (Endosequence BC sealer). A controlled volume droplet of sealer was placed on each specimen and was subjected to the contact angle meter.
Data were statistically analyzed using the one-way ANOVA and Tukey's test at a significance level of 0.05 ( < 0.05).
A statistically significant difference was seen among all the groups and subgroups with the highest contact angle value for Group III and Subgroup C and the least value for Group I and Subgroup A.
Passive irrigation with side-vented needle and Tubli-Seal EWT showed better wettability on dentin.

36颗经去冠、清洁并预备至35号锉的单根下颌前磨牙,根据不同的激活技术随机分为三组,每组12个样本(n = 12):第一组(使用侧孔针进行被动冲洗)、第二组(手动动态搅拌)和第三组(被动超声冲洗)。将牙根纵劈,并根据所测试的根管封闭剂细分为三个亚组,每个亚组4个样本(n = 4):A亚组(Tubliseal EWT)、B亚组(AH Plus)和C亚组(Endosequence BC封闭剂)。将一定体积的封闭剂液滴置于每个样本上,并使用接触角测量仪进行测量。
采用单因素方差分析和Tukey检验对数据进行统计学分析,显著性水平为0.05(P < 0.05)。
所有组和亚组之间均存在统计学显著差异,第三组和C亚组的接触角值最高,第一组和A亚组的接触角值最低。
使用侧孔针进行被动冲洗和Tubli-Seal EWT在牙本质上表现出更好的润湿性。
