BACKGROUND
To investigate the development in palliative care education in Germany, numerous surveys have been conducted since 2006. They showed differences of palliative care education between the faculties before and after the implementation of palliative care as a mandatory subject. The present study aims to document the status of palliative care education at German medical faculties in 2018.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Using an online questionnaire with 19 questions, the structure, organization, content, and assessment of palliative care education of German medical faculties were assessed.
RESULTS
Of the 37 participating faculties, 30 reported improvements in terms of structural aspects, e.g., there were more palliative care units and full professorships. Due to increasing opportunities for final year rotations and innovative, practical teaching, students can now deepen their knowledge, skills, and attitude in palliative care.
CONCLUSION
This study showed clear progression in palliative care education. Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement in terms of examination formats and professorships. Complementary surveys with students would be helpful to evaluate the education outcome.

自2006年以来,为了调查德国姑息治疗教育的发展情况,已经开展了大量调查。这些调查显示,在将姑息治疗作为一门必修课实施前后,各医学院校之间的姑息治疗教育存在差异。本研究旨在记录2018年德国医学院校姑息治疗教育的现状。
材料与方法
通过一份包含19个问题的在线问卷,对德国医学院校姑息治疗教育的结构、组织、内容和评估进行了评估。
结果
在参与调查的37所医学院校中,有30所报告在结构方面有所改进,例如,姑息治疗科室和正教授职位有所增加。由于最后一年轮转机会的增加以及创新的实践教学,学生现在可以加深他们在姑息治疗方面的知识、技能和态度。
结论
本研究表明姑息治疗教育有明显进展。然而,在考试形式和教授职位方面仍有改进空间。对学生进行补充调查将有助于评估教育成果。
