The present study investigated the phytochemicals and antidiabetic effect of the aqueous extract of the fruit of Linn. in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mice. The fruit of was extracted with water. The phytochemicals of the water extract were investigated by the liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method. The water extract of at doses of 150 and 300 mg/kg body weight (bw) was administered to mice for 21 days, and blood glucose level, triglyceride, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) enzyme were estimated. Analyzed phytochemicals showed the fruit of Linn has a high amount of phenolic and flavonoid compounds, which provide beneficial effect for this plant. The oral administration of the fruit extract of at doses of 150 and 300 mg/kg bw for 21 days significantly reduced blood glucose level, triglycerides, serum cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, AST and ALT enzyme. Our results suggested that the fruit extract of has strong antidiabetic effect in STZ-induced diabetic mice. The fruit of this plant might be a potential source of drug for treatment of diabetes.
本研究调查了 Linn. 果实水提取物的植物化学物质及其对链脲佐菌素(STZ)诱导的糖尿病小鼠的抗糖尿病作用。Linn. 的果实用水进行提取。采用液相色谱 - 串联质谱(LC-MS/MS)法对水提取物的植物化学物质进行研究。将剂量为150和300毫克/千克体重(bw)的Linn. 果实水提取物给予小鼠21天,并测定血糖水平、甘油三酯、总胆固醇、低密度脂蛋白(LDL)胆固醇、高密度脂蛋白胆固醇、天冬氨酸转氨酶(AST)和丙氨酸转氨酶(ALT)。分析的植物化学物质表明,Linn. 果实含有大量酚类和黄酮类化合物,这为该植物带来有益作用。以150和300毫克/千克体重的剂量口服Linn. 果实提取物21天,可显著降低血糖水平、甘油三酯、血清胆固醇、LDL胆固醇、AST和ALT。我们的结果表明,Linn. 果实提取物对STZ诱导的糖尿病小鼠具有强大的抗糖尿病作用。这种植物的果实可能是治疗糖尿病的潜在药物来源。
