Adenosine and a majority of adenine mononucleotides have a radioprotective action; adenine and 2'-deoxyadenosine have no radioprotective effect, and that of 3',5'-cAMP only approaches the detectable level. Ribo- and deoxyribonucleosides and nucleotides of guanine, uracil, thymine, and cytosine have no protective action. Dipyridamole increases and alkylxanthines block the radioprotective effect of adenosine. So it follows that the radioprotective effect is realized via A-receptors of the plasmatic membrane external surface.
腺苷及大多数腺嘌呤单核苷酸具有辐射防护作用;腺嘌呤和2'-脱氧腺苷没有辐射防护作用,而3',5'-环磷酸腺苷的辐射防护作用仅接近可检测水平。鸟嘌呤、尿嘧啶、胸腺嘧啶和胞嘧啶的核糖核苷及脱氧核糖核苷与核苷酸没有防护作用。双嘧达莫增强而烷基黄嘌呤阻断腺苷的辐射防护作用。因此可以推断,辐射防护作用是通过质膜外表面的A受体实现的。
