Abstract
Four cases of recurrent affective disorders received a long term treatment by maintenance ECT in order to control relapses which were not otherwise controlled by antidepressant or mood stabilizing drugs. The efficacy of maintenance ECT makes it possible to use this therapeutic method under certain conditions.
