Long-term results of cystolysis (supratrigonal denervation) of the bladder for intractable interstitial cystitis.

Cystolysis (supratrigonal denervation) of the bladder has had enough reported success to encourage clinical use. We performed cystolysis in 11 patients with long-term followup. Only 1 patient has remained free of symptoms, 3 had improvement in pain but continue to have frequency and nocturia, and 7 failed treatment. The poor long-term results are discussed.
