A 36-year-old male competitive powerlifter sustained asynchronous bilateral Achilles tendon ruptures after using 2 types of selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs). Both tendon ruptures occurred near the myotendinous junction and were treated with open surgical repair and an initial period of immobilization followed by progressive weightbearing and rehabilitation; no postoperative complications were observed.
Previous studies have reported that anabolic androgenic steroids have a deleterious impact on tendon structure and function. This case suggests that SARM compounds may also predispose users to Achilles tendon rupture.
一名 36 岁男性竞技力量举重运动员在使用 2 种选择性雄激素受体调节剂 (SARMs) 后发生异步双侧跟腱断裂。两条肌腱均在肌-腱连接处附近断裂，采用开放式手术修复，并进行初始固定，然后逐渐负重和康复治疗；未观察到术后并发症。
先前的研究报告称，合成代谢雄激素类固醇对肌腱结构和功能有不良影响。本案例提示，SARMs 化合物也可能使使用者易发生跟腱断裂。
