Abstract

PURPOSE

In this study, we examined the validity and reliability of the Compassion Competence Scale (CCS) by adapting it to Turkish.

DESING AND METHODS

The data of the methodological research were obtained from 180 nursing students in the 3rd and 4th grades of the nursing department of a public university.

FINDINGS

CCS Cronbach alpha coefficient was determined as 0.795; 0.758 for the "Communication" subdimension and 0.639 for the "Sensitivity" subdimension and 0.658 for the "Insight" subdimension.

PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS

As a result of this research, it was identified that the CCS is a valid and reliable evaluation tool in assessing compassion competence in nursing students.
