Kyphosis dorsalis juvenilis, the so-called apprentice or muscular kyphosis, is caused by disturbances in the vertebral epiphyses and not as originally suggested by muscular spinal insufficiency. The pathology resembles Calvé-Perthes osteochondritis deformans juvenilis coxae and can therefore be labelled as Osteochondritis deformans juvenilis dorsi.
青少年驼背，即所谓的学徒型或肌性驼背，是由椎体骨骺紊乱引起的，而非如最初所认为的那样是由于脊柱肌肉功能不全。其病理与幼年型髋部畸形性骨软骨炎（卡尔维-佩尔什病）相似，因此可被称为幼年型背部畸形性骨软骨炎。
