Abstract

We have described the first case of Campylobacter jejuni enteritis in a premature neonate, whose clinical course was characterized by a self-limited bloody diarrhea accompanied by metabolic acidosis and poor weight gain. The importance of this organism in causing preterm labor in mothers and enteritis in premature neonates awaits systematic study.
