Abstract

The dance fly Ding, He, Lin and Yang, 2020 belongs to the subfamily Empidinae of Empididae. The mitochondrial genome of was sequenced as the new representative of the subfamily Empidinae. The nearly complete mitogenome was 15,354 bp, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes, two s, and 22 . All genes have the similar locations and strands with that of other published species of Empididae. The nucleotide composition biases toward A and T is 77.4% of the entirety. All PCGs start with ATN codons except and , and end with TAA or incomplete stop codon. Bayesian inference (BI) analysis strongly supported the monophyly of both Empididae and Dolichopodidae and the monophyly of subfamily Empidinae. It suggested that is the sister group of .
