This paper describes the large-specimen resin-embedding method which has been developed for use with cardiac specimens in our laboratory during the past seven years. The technical problems experienced are discussed, the excellent quality of the light and electron microscopic preparations obtained from the single large resin blocks is illustrated, and the major advantages of using this methodology in experimental heart research are briefly considered.
