The results of RASTs were correlated with family history (interview referenced) of respiratory diseases in 1,477 children under the age of 13, referred for a presumed atopic respiratory disease. Specific IgE found to dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, cat's epithelium and food (egg white and cow milk) were not related to family history. Significant increase of frequency of specific IgE to timothy grass pollen was demonstrated. The author then describes a "genetic score" in groups of patients classified by their result of RAST g6 (timothy grass pollen) and their rhesus phenotype CC, Cc or cc. Significant differences were found; the author suggests the use of the "genetic score" for the research of constitutional markers of atopy.
