Understanding help-seeking decisions in people with subjective cognitive decline: A systematic review of qualitative studies.

OBJECTIVE
To synthesize the findings of qualitative research on help-seeking in people with subjective cognitive decline.
METHODS
Relevant qualitative studies were identified by searching the PubMed, CINAHL, Ovid Medline, PsycInfo, Embase, and Web of Science databases. Studies that investigated help-seeking behavior in older adults with subjective cognitive decline were retrieved. The systematic review was conducted in line with JBI methodology for systematic reviews of qualitative evidence.
RESULTS
11 studies were included and three themes related to the process of help-seeking for cognitive problems emerged. These themes included: detected changes, challenges in identifying the need for help and decision to seek professional help.
CONCLUSION
Making decisions to seek help for people with subjective cognitive decline is a multi-stage process. A better understanding of the complex psychological responses to subjective cognitive decline among older adults may help health care professionals to develop strategies to improve help-seeking in clinical practice.

综合主观认知下降人群寻求帮助的定性研究结果。
方法
通过检索 PubMed、CINAHL、Ovid Medline、PsycInfo、Embase 和 Web of Science 数据库，确定了相关的定性研究。检索了调查老年人主观认知下降时寻求帮助行为的研究。系统评价按照 JBI 定性证据系统评价方法进行。
结果
纳入了 11 项研究，出现了与认知问题寻求帮助过程相关的三个主题。这些主题包括：发现变化、识别寻求帮助的需求的挑战以及决定寻求专业帮助。
结论
对于主观认知下降的人做出寻求帮助的决定是一个多阶段的过程。更好地了解老年人对主观认知下降的复杂心理反应可能有助于医疗保健专业人员制定策略，以改善临床实践中的寻求帮助行为。
