Recent applications of electrophysiologic monitoring during surgery.

A multiplicity of electrophysiologic monitoring methods are available to assist the surgeon in operating on a patient in whom there is a risk of damage to neural structures. The applications and problems of each method must be considered in selecting the monitoring technique for each individual patient.
