[Results of total embolization of varicose veins of the gastroesophageal zone in portal hypertension in children].

The operation is aimed at embolization of all the varicose veins of the gastroesophageal zone which are the source of bleeding in portal hypertension. Under the corresponding anatomical conditions the total embolization results in the decreased portal tension due to the development of effective direct portocaval anastomoses.
