BACKGROUND
Evaluation of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) association with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is our object.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
This study was conducted on IGF-1 levels of 40 neonates <34 weeks gestational age and 2000 g at 1 week and 4-6 weeks after birth. All participants were evaluated for ROP after 31 weeks of gestation.
RESULTS
IGF-1 levels showed a significant difference between neonates ≤1500 and 1500-2000 g (1 and 4-6 weeks, = 0.008, = 0.039, respectively). No significant association was found between IGF-1 and ROP.
CONCLUSION
Finding a meaningful association between IGF-1 and ROP requires consideration of factors affecting the IGF-1.
背景
评估胰岛素样生长因子-1（IGF-1）与早产儿视网膜病变（ROP）之间的关联是我们的目标。
材料与方法
本研究对40名胎龄<34周且出生体重<2000g的新生儿在出生后1周及4 - 6周时的IGF-1水平进行了检测。所有参与者在妊娠31周后接受了ROP评估。
结果
出生体重≤1500g和1500 - 2000g的新生儿之间，IGF-1水平存在显著差异（出生后1周和4 - 6周时，P值分别为0.008和0.039）。未发现IGF-1与ROP之间存在显著关联。
结论
要找到IGF-1与ROP之间有意义的关联，需要考虑影响IGF-1的因素。
