Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of yoga practice on the breastfeeding self-efficacy and maternal attachment of primiparous mothers in the postpartum period. This study was performed in a quasi-experimental model with pretest and posttest control groups. The domain of the study was formed with women with 20-40-day-old babies enrolled in two Family Health Centers. One hundred and twenty-four women participated in the study. The Individual Identification Form, Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, and Maternal Attachment Scale were completed by the experimental and control groups. The experimental group engaged in 60 minutes of postpartum yoga practice 2 days a week for 8 weeks in the company of the researcher. After yoga practice, there was a statistically significant increase in the breastfeeding self-efficacy and improvement in the maternal attachment of the experimental group ( < 0.05). The corresponding increase and improvement of the mothers in the control group were less than those of the mothers in the experimental group ( < 0.05). This study finds that it is beneficial for both the mother's and the baby's physical and psychological health for health professionals to teach mothers to practice yoga, which positively affects breastfeeding and maternal attachment in the postpartum period.

本研究旨在探讨瑜伽练习对产后初产妇母乳喂养自我效能和母婴依恋的影响。本研究采用准实验设计,设有前测和后测对照组。研究对象为在两家家庭健康中心注册的 20-40 天婴儿的初产妇。共有 124 名妇女参加了研究。实验组和对照组完成了个人识别表、母乳喂养自我效能量表和母婴依恋量表。实验组在研究人员的陪同下,每周 2 天,每次 60 分钟,进行 8 周的产后瑜伽练习。瑜伽练习后,实验组的母乳喂养自我效能显著提高,母婴依恋得到改善( < 0.05)。对照组母亲的相应增加和改善则低于实验组( < 0.05)。本研究发现,健康专业人员教授母亲练习瑜伽,有益于母亲和婴儿的身心健康,对产后母乳喂养和母婴依恋产生积极影响。
